Happy Canada Day! Celebrating Our Journey from Farmers Markets to Major Stores
Today, as we stay dry at home on this rainy Canada Day in Halifax, we reflect on our early days with Simply Go Natural Cosmetics and how far we've come.
Starting out as a new mom and full-time employee, weekends were my only opportunity to work on the business. Every weekend, including most holidays, I was at the Halifax Seaport Market, connecting with our local community and introducing them to our products. My husband often brought our kids to see me, ensuring they were a part of this journey despite my busy schedule. This balancing act is what drew me to becoming a mompreneur, as I navigated life in Canada as a new immigrant and mother, striving to secure both my children's well-being and my career.
Eight years later, all the hard work and sacrifices have paid off. Our natural hair care and skin care products are now available in 53 major Sobeys and Lawtons Drugs stores across Atlantic Canada, and our children are growing up so quickly.
While we no longer frequent farmers markets, we stay connected to our community through pop-ups, trade shows, and in-store demos. Our next event is a pop-up at the Halifax Stanfield International Airport on July 4th from 10 am to 2 pm, where our products have been available for a year now.
We are immensely grateful to Canada and Nova Scotia for providing an environment that allowed us to explore our creativity and develop products that support the health and beauty of Canadians across Atlantic Canada.
